Halal Meat / Food
The availability of halal food (and meat in particular) is widespread in Muslim countries. You can walk into any shop or restaurant and be confident you’re feeding yourself and your family permissible food.
In the States where I live, you have to travel to special markets to acquire it, and it’s invariably more expensive than the regular fare. I live in one of the largest cities in the country so I’m still one of the lucky ones. In food deserts or the expansive midwest, halal food and groceries are even harder to come by. Outside of ethnic restaurants it’s rare for halal meat items to be on menus.
Many years ago, I was traveling and had a layover in the UAE. I remember how amazing it felt to just walk into a burger shop and buy a burger.
